This privacy policy explains how Top AI Firms collects, uses and protects personal data from website visitors, newsletter subscribers and people who contact us.

Personal data we collect

We collect only what you send us, and what a web server records when your browser asks it for a page:

Contact form: the reason you are writing, your name and email address, and, if you add them, your firm or organization, the firm or organization your message is about, a source we can check and your message.
Newsletter form: your email address.
Technical data: the IP address, browser type and address of each page requested, recorded in our host's server logs; our security software also records requests it blocks and attempts to sign in to the site's admin.

We do not ask for your phone number, job function or research interests. We run no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build a profile of what you read.

How we use your data

To answer your message, and to act on a correction you send.
To send the newsletter you signed up for.
To keep the website secure and working: server and security logs are used to block attacks and to fix faults.
To comply with applicable laws.

Legal basis for processing

We process data based on your consent (the newsletter), on taking the steps you ask us to take (answering your message), on compliance with legal obligations, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working (server and security logs).

Where your data goes

Messages and newsletter sign-ups are not stored on the website. The forms send them by email to our mailbox, topaifirms@gmail.com, and nothing from them is kept in the site's database. We do not sell or broker your data. The services that handle it for us are:

GoDaddy, which hosts the website and keeps its server logs.
Akamai, whose network delivers the site's pages.
Google, which provides our mailbox and the fonts the site uses. Your browser fetches the fonts from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when it does.
Our legal advisers, where needed.

We may transfer data internationally to the US, UK or EU with appropriate legal safeguards.

How long we keep it

Messages: for as long as we need them to answer you and deal with any follow-up, and no longer than 24 months after our last exchange.
Newsletter sign-ups: until you ask us to stop sending it, when we delete your address.
Security logs: blocked requests are deleted after 30 days at most, and the record of sign-in attempts is trimmed automatically as new entries arrive.
Server logs: kept by our host for security and troubleshooting, and rotated automatically.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies for readers and stores nothing in your browser. Our cookies policy explains the only cookies it uses, which are for staff who sign in to edit the site.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict processing
Withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time
