Mistral raises 3 billion euros at a 21 billion euro valuation

Mistral AI said on 8 September 2026 that it had raised €3 billion (about $3.58 billion) at a post-money valuation of more than €21 billion (about $24.4 billion). Samsung Electronics led the Series D, with the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund and existing investor PSG Equity as co-leads.

Why it matters to a buyer

For a buyer weighing data sovereignty, the relevant change is not the valuation but the runway behind it. A European model builder funded at this level is a more credible ten-year bet than it was a year ago, when the same firm was valued at €11.7 billion.
